CMU's bad points

I don't think I've ever seen this question asked. What are the less-appealing aspects of CMU?

All I already know of is the food.

concerning the food, my tastes in food are different from a lot of peoples. I like fast food stuff like McD's/Burger King etc so I have what many would consider "bad taste". Will my tastes be well accomadated at CMU? I also like mangos and kiwis and peaches a lot. I hope they have those for breakfast.

The two things I find bad about it:
1. weather. way cold and windy
2. a lot of asians. i'm used to being in a society with predominantly white, and i guess being different/recognizable. i'm scared of being "just another asian girl"

And I have "bad taste" too!!! lol. wow.... this is kind of crazy...

Yes, the food definitely sucks. Also there's going to be a big random steel pole that's apparently art. That's a separate issue, though.

Specifically, the food sucks because much of it is unhealthy, greasy and nasty-tasting. There's also a very limited choice of on-campus locations (that accept blocks - this is only of concern to freshmen), especially late at night and on weekends. There's a pretty big variety of off-campus food though.

Otherwise, I can't think of anything.

the food was pretty disgusting..i mean it was food id love...like cheeseburgers and fries and lots of greese...but yeah...by standard appeal its definatly gross

im scared of all this junk food...i CANNOT afford to gain weight...NOO

yea, freshman 15... although apparently a lot of it is beer... so we wont' have that much of a problem, lol.

You might like junk food now, but after eating nothing BUT that stuff for a few months...you will never want to see another cheeseburger in your life. I have to go off-campus for food on weekends otherwise I would go insane.

hah watch me transform into a drunken lunatic

only kidding...only kidding...

i hope

I'm more afraid of being so stressed out and unable to catch up with work that I'd consider doing speed or rittalin (ridalin? i'm too lazy to look that up)

when i ran track....(once upon a time)...burger king was a second home to me lol

i doubt ill be able to work even half as hard as most of the people there...but oh well...theres always my good friend bergen community college awaiting me if things go wrong :)

rutgers > community colleges.

if i get stressed out enough, i dunno.
if i HAD to transfer out, it would either be to GaTech or Stevens...
although Stevens would probably not give me a full anymore....

yeah i was actually thinking rutgers...or maybe another good school just more relaxed

im a hard worker (uhum) but i dont kill myself over it...(i just cry hopelessly)

I actually haven't heard any talk about the drug usage (like speed and ritalin, to help you do work)

is that a big thing at CMU? for SCS preferably, but in general would be a good answer too.

yeah i havent heard anything about that

i dont think id ever resort to something like that

There are rumors like hard work and the bad social life but the only real complaint is:

BAD FOOD. I only go to 4 different on-campus places and then I buy hot dogs, the truck foods, order from outside, and go out to eat.

seriously, is the food that bad?

where can you use the dinextra money? If the food at CMU is that bad, I'd rather eat elsewhere. Please name the places that accept dinextra in the city or elsewhere.

Subway, Vocelli's, etc. The only bad thing is that there are like 10+ places to eat and only 3-4 are good. I suggest you check out the trucks or the hot dog place owned by Joe's.

The hard work and social life rumors are just that, rumors.
