CNAS Scholars dorming?

hey guys, does anyone know anything about the cnas dorming together community?
at the bottom, it says that if we do join the scholars community, we'll have to take/attend:

Attend 1 Educational Program per Quarter

Attend 2 Academic Workshops per Quarter

Attend 1 Faculty Office Hour per Quarter

so does anyone know if these are for credits/a grade? will affect my gpa?
i asked one of my friends who was attended this program a few years ago and he said this might be a new addition to the program.. did anyone take these classes before?
are they beneficial?

description of cnas scholars from the housing contract:

CNAS Scholars Learning Community

The CNAS Scholars Learning Community is designed for first-year students in the College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences (CNAS). The CNAS Scholars Learning Community environment is conducive to informal study groups with hallmates, formal study groups organized by UCR’s Learning Center, as well as other science and math social and academic activities. This community is recommended for science and mathematics majors, especially those students intending to participate in academic clubs associated with CNAS.

A CNAS Scholars Learning Community is located at each Residence Hall building and all rooms are same gender.
Resident Advisors for this community are CNAS majors.

COMMUNITY REQUIREMENTS:
If you select and are assigned to live in this academic special interest learning community you understand that you will be expected to fulfill the following specific requirements during the course of the academic year:

Continual Enrollment in a CNAS or BCOE major

Attend 1 Educational Program per Quarter

Attend 2 Academic Workshops per Quarter

Attend 1 Faculty Office Hour per Quarter

Programs and workshops will be sponsored by UCR Housing Services and the academic department that advises your community.

THANKS GUYS!

I managed to get in the same suite/hall as two other peeps in my CNAS scholars community, but according to them, the housing is random - chances are you’ll prob be alone - I was apparently ridiculously lucky.

The extra stuff will give you 2 credits during first quarter, for a NS/S grade. Everything else will have no effect on your transcript
