<p>I htink that if you can, visiting will tell you a lot. Sometimes the visit is nothing short of a dog and pny show and other times, the visit connects with your spirit and peaks to your gut.</p>
<p>There was a time had you asked my daughter she would have been over the moon at the thought of going to Columbia, Cornell or NYU. It took the visits and attending classes for her to know that there was no way she could ever be happy there. </p>
<p>By the same token, I would have bet the farm (if I had one) that Dartmouth would be the last place that she would be interested in (as a matter of fact I told her to keep an open mind because it was important to know what you did not like in a school) She visited, came home said this is the place for her. Now that she is there she gushes about how happy she is and how she knows that she was meant to be there.</p>
