co-ed bathrooms

now that seems like it could be awkward.......anyone have any embarrassing experiences or problems with co-ed bathrooms? or are they fine, no problems at all?

Because I love to quote myself...

As for co-ed bathrooms; it's really not that exciting either. There are sinks, toilets, showers, and urinals. Nobody ever sees anyone naked (not unintentionally anyway), people wear towels. People use the sinks. People use the toilets. In the end, you find out that there really isn't much point to separating bathrooms at all.

And to add to that, you'll probably find that it's quite a social experience. You'll be living with these people for at least a semester, and will quite likely be friends with them. You can meet and talk to people as they brush their teeth, wash their hands, use the toilets. You'll get used to it :)

I walk around my bathroom naked. Just like i do at the gym.

has anyone here read I Am Charlotte Simmons? I don't know how people have co-ed bathrooms! I really find this fascinating! How can you do that??

I'm with syn -- I really don't think it's a big deal at all.

Even if you have a single-sex bathroom in college, you probably wouldn't be walking around naked, so what's the big deal with co-ed bathrooms?

knock knock knock "how's it coming" "....o.O" "oh by the way, my name is..."

it's really not a big deal. you just go in and do your business and leave. I lived in an all girls dorm and we shared the bathroom with our guy guests (as we didn't have mens bathrooms). not a problem at all.

I'm living in co-ed suite with co-ed bathrooms. It's no big deal. No awkwardness at all.

I have a fun story somewhat related to this. I went shopping at the Gap yesterday, and their fitting rooms are co-ed. I thought, thats a little unusual, but, hey, i dont see any problem. Ill deal. So i was trying on the jeans and i hear these girls talking about their butts, and only later do they start talking about breast feeding, and then they move on to losing pregnancy weight. I mean im understanding of all these issues post-pregnancy women face, but i felt a little awkward hearing their locker room conversation.

Not that im saying co-ed bathrooms would be this awkward. For one, i dont think id be dealing with pregnant groups of women. and also, because i think the conversation could be awesome.
