Co-op in Engineering, graduate in 4 years?

Can it be done with moderate intensity? (Not too easy, not super hard)

Maybe i’m just out of the loop, but what do you mean by “co-op?” Like a double-major in engineering?

I think the OP means combining a semester and a summer to take an extra-long (usually paid) internship. I’ve heard that at some schools where the co-op is very popular (Drexel, Northeastern, etc) graduating in 4 years including your co-op experience is possible. When I mentioned the possibility of a co-op during my visit to WashU, the engineering folks said this would automatically delay my graduation by a semester. Given the quickness of their response, you would probably have to be willing to really work your hiney off to meet the demands of the WUSTL engineering curriculum in 3 1/2 years (if they’ll even let you). This sounds like a question to direct to engineering student services.

Oh, ok I see… Yeah I don’t really have the answer to that, sorry. Maybe try posting a new thread asking simply if it’s possible to graduate in 3.5 years? Might get more useful attention, since Co-ops don’t seem particularly common here. Most likely the answer you’re going to get is that it depends on which engineering program you’re doing. If I were guessing, you could do it with any of them, if you’re prepared to make it up with summer courses or more hours during other semesters. Some degrees would require more catch-up than others, though.
