Any feedback on the co-op program including the ease or difficulty of obtaining a co-op and its affect on expected graduation and obtaining full-time employment.

Effect on graduation will depend on your major and if going in with any AP credits. Engineers require more co-op than computer science majors, for example. My son went in with 5 AP credits (RIT has been very generous with those) but he is only required to do 2 co-op sessions, so he will graduate in 4 years.

Several of his friends landed summer co-op jobs after the fall job fair on campus (there is one each spring and fall). The list of companies that attend is large, his friends are mostly in computer fields and not engineering.

Any co-op or internship experience will help with the job search after graduation. We have known several students who were hired after their summer internships, I don’t have RIT’s statistics overall for placement.
