Hi,
Is having co-ops normal at SDSU? I got accepted to MechE and I would like to know if it’s a possibility because it’s absolutely something I would like to do. Also, would going to SDSU put me at any disadvantage in comparison with students who attend UCSD (or any other UC) here in San Diego? I’ve also been accepted to SJSU and CPP. I am also waiting fot the UCs I applied to but economically speaking SDSU would be the best option, as I’d graduate with no debt in comparison with ~30k with a school outside of San Diego and I would be unable to have a car.
@Gumbymom I did see that link but I was a bit thrown off because it says internships, and I thought those were like three months less than an actual co-op.
I do not know if SDSU offers any co-ops.
Depending on the company that you are interning with at the time, some can extend into year long or more.
@Gumbymom I understand, I suppose internships can work for me. How would you say SDSU compares to the other schools I mentioned?
I think all three schools have good engineering programs and all three are ABET accredited for ME. Your decision should be based on which schools fits you academically/socially and financially.
Also you should consider where you might want stay and work after graduation.
