My worry is my math and science grades tend to be in the mid 80's and my english and history grades are what pulls my average up. Also, my math and science grades are my lowest on the ACT's.

Right now my top choice is probably Colorado school of mines, but I've visited all of them (except Clarkson) and would be happy at pretty much all of them (except Buffalo, but I wanted at least one SUNY on the list and it's the only SUNY with Civil engineering).

Any input or advice would be great! Thanks!

I also took Chinese in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade (they stopped offering it)

First, I am not at all sure that Colorado School of Mines is a reach, unless out state applicants are held to a higher standard. Looks closer to a match to me.

Second… So, your math scores hold you down. Are you sure that majoring is civil engineering (or engineering of any sort) is the best choice? I know that engineers make great money, but sometimes you have to go with your strength (and avoid your weakness).

If you are committed to engineering, take a look at Industrial Engineering. It is probably not much harder than CE and should get you into a corporate management position faster. Also good preparation for an MBA.
