I applied to a school for early decision and had visited the school for a sport, even thought it was division 3, to meet the coach and look over the campus. The coach had written a letter to the admission office supporting my application. Today, I received a letter from the coach asking my current Stats because he has been asked to discuss my application with the admissions office.

What could this be for? Is a way that I got rejected by one admissions officers and now another one needs more information?

Coach wants to verify your suitability (stats wise) before vouching for you – he only has so many spots and you’re on his list. This is a good sign.

He had already done that back in August. I am just worried now as to why the admission office wants to talk to him again regarding my application. Any ideas?

I think it’s just admissions doing their due diligence. At a selective D3, the coach can support - but admissions makes the final decision. They just want to get a clearer picture of your academics before making that decision.

It may just be a coach doing his due diligence, but if your high school sent in your interim senior grades and admissions did not like them, that might be one reason for the last minute request. I would contact the coach immediately. If it is nothing, you don’t have to worry.
