Coach Supported admit--Injured

My son is an athlete who was accepted to USC. While not a star athlete, my son is dedicated and communicated with a USC coach during the application process. The coach submitted the application to admissions and luckily my son was accepted. During the period of time of application review, my son experienced an injury which makes him unsure if he wants to participate in his sport at the college level.

The Conditions of Admission State:
1. Register with the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse (which he did last fall).

Does anyone know if his admission to the USC can be revoked if he does not play the sport in the fall?

Thank you!

Without knowing all the ins and outs here ... but i am the parent of a recruited D1 athlete ... I would think that his admission is not in jeopardy, but any athletic scholarship would be definitely in jeopardy.

you should post on the parents forum; there are people with kids playing recruited sports.

I would guess that cnp55 is right. An athletic scholarship would probably be out the window now, but I doubt they would revoke his admission.
