Coalition Profile / UF App questions

I have a couple of questions for those of you that have made it pass the Coalition Profile and on to the UF app.

My D has been nominated for an officer position in an honor society and she wants to include it in the Coalition Profile, but the election is not for another two weeks.

Can the Coalition Profile be edited after the UF application is started?

Does the UF App have a place to upload or enter a resume so she could add something not on the Coalition profile.

Thanks!

Not first about the first part, but I do have an answer for the second part. When you go through the Uf app, there is a section with questions that you can talk about your honors and achievements. However, which questions you get are random. Mine asked about jobs and volunteering. If you look up UF personal resume and go to their website. It lists all the possible questions but I was only asked a few.

Thanks @almostdonewithhs

We were expecting those questions based on what we heard at the Open House, but I am shocked that applicants do not get to answer all of them.

Me too. I even called to make sure and the lady(student) told me not to worry about it.

I also received questions regarding volunteering and jobs. I am curious if anyone received the question about discussing your honors and achievements.

Also, I was only allowed to list eight extracurricular activities. Was anyone allowed to submit more than eight?

Nope, no more than 8. And the UF app only ask about community service, employment, and space to list any programs or activities that helped you prepare for higher education, such as University Outreach, Talent Search, Upward Bound, etc.

However,

In the UF app, after listing Community Service and Employment, there is an “Additional Information” section.

This section is limited to 950 characters, but you could list additional EC’s, honors, etc.

Right now we’re stuck at this step, as the “boy” needs to finish editing his essay…grumble…grumble…

EDIT: Isn’t it fun being the first through a new application process! It’s just great!

I also am confused by housing now because it says I should be able to apply. I then go to login and it tells me I am ineligible because I have not submitted my app yet. I have my ufid though and uf just needs to link my ssar even though it is already submitted. Why couldn’t they just stay with the Normal app and sending in a transcript???

Thanks for the reply, gator88. I was also wondering if UF allows you to attach a résumé in the student locker. I’m assuming not but I just wanted to check. another question: I called UF admissions today and was told that 3 year graduates have to submit their mid year grades. Has anyone else ever heard of this? I’m totally fine with doing so, but I never have heard any mention of this.

For the last few years, UF hasn’t had a “normal” app, and they have been using the SSAR. No getting around that SSAR. :frowning:

I don’t think UF will accept resumes, etc. But you can always check with admissions. I’m not familiar with 3 year graduates (assuming that’s students who only need 3 years to graduate from high school), but they likely want to be sure the student will have enough credits by the end of the 3rd year.

@UFgogators - UF locks the SSAR for students after December 1st - it will reopen for 3 year grads to get the first semester grades from the third/fouth year so there will be more information to make a decision on - 2 1/2 years of credit and grades instead of 2.

Thanks for the info @Melissa96. Do you go to UF? If so, were you a three year HS grad? I’m glad you only have to update the SSAR and don’t have to send in an official paper transcript from high school.

Does anyone know if changes in the Coalition application profile show up to the admissions committee? I already submitted my UF application a week ago but then changed a few small things on my Coalition profile. I’m really hoping they’ll see what I changed.

Coalition App was never ready for roll out. Especially for a tight deadline school like UF. Poor decision by both parties.
