@ameladmission, CCSF recommended we put the recommender’s name but the semifinalist’s email address and then submit. When the email comes to you, you could forward it to your recommender. We just did that but not yet sure if it worked. Keep me posted, if possible. Good luck!
@IntoTheWoods Fabulous, thank you! I will let you know.
1200 hours? Yikes. I have 700 if I’m being generous. I also do not play a aport but have robust ECs and dual enroll the vast majority of my classes at a local university so I think I will be ok.
CCSF has not replied to my email yet, so I thought I’d ask here- Should my guidance counselor submit my end of junior year transcript, or my end of first semester senior year transcript? It would be cutting it close due to grades being due at my school on the fourth, but we are curious.
Where are you guys putting awards on your app? I know there’s a box for awards within activities (Science Olympiad medalist, varsity letter, etc) but where would I put something like National Merit Semifinalist? They had a whole section for awards on the first app…
Must the recommendation letters for Professional and Personal Letters be submitted by tonight? Or can be they turned in by the end of the week?
I am aware that they said it should be in ideally by tonight, December 7th.
I think that’s more of a suggestion than a deadline. And it’s just a “deadline” for when the requests need to be sent, not necessarily the submission of the completed recommendations.
Okay, thank you @malvernvarna I appreciate it
What is the average number of volunteer hours?
Of the participants last year or this year? @bellbeast But I don’t think we should be counting hours guys… Just display who you are, what matters to you, and what you have done personally. Good luck!
I agree. While community service is important for everyone to do, there are definitely incredibly accomplished students who spend a lot of time doing other activities. No where does it say this award is chosen based on the number of community service hours.
If you don’t have a ton of community service hours, remember the complete application is evaluated based on a transcript, extracurricular activities, several essays, and letters of recommendation.
Semifinalists are on the site! http://www.coca-colascholarsfoundation.org/blog/2017-coca-cola-scholar-semifinalists/
Thanks!
Hey guys also a semifinalist. I just figured it out because they sent me a card in the mail. I literally did the app in 10 mins lol How hard is it to actually win the scholarship
Statistically, very. Worth a shot though.
I submitted all of my documents today! <:-P
Good luck! @ameladmission
Is the Coca Cola Scholarship 20K per yr for 4 years or is it just 20k altogether for the top award?
$20K is the total award; paid out each semester.
