Coca-Cola Scholarship- 2010-2011

Wow! What an honor to be in a group with such amazing people.

For me personally: my scores are fairly good (2240 SAT 31 ACT 100% GPA) but it doesn’t seem like they look into scores ALL that much.

I have 6 leadership positions: (Pres of Drama Club, Senior Choir, and Community Service A Cappella Choir, Vice-President of DECA, Treasurer of SADD and NHS)

My community service hours are fairly good, but divided amongst different groups like someone else said. My biggest community service project is the community service a cappella choir I founded, which was able to raise over $300 in one night for the Food Bank of WNY by performing at a local restaurant.

What I lacked in overwhelming amounts of service hours was hopefully made up for by maintaining a job for the last 4 years at a local restaurant. My reccomendation from the owner of this restaurant was really good, and two pages long!

Like jashton, music is my passion! I’m in every choir, and I have had many solos. I’ve also gone to all-county, area all-state, and all-state choirs in NY. It was an incredible honor!

I am also involved in the drama program, and have been cast in every play since I got into high school as well as leading roles in 5 out of 7 of these productions. Drama is another major passion!

Also, persianprincess, how come you got a call? Any reason in particular? Just curious.

Like I said before, stereostaticxx, you’re amazing and they’ll definitely see your dedication to your job and everything else you did. The president, mark Davis, called and told me that I was a finalist and offered me the 20k Emory award. He said I could either take the 10k or the 20k Emory award. I called him back and told him I’d just take the 10k and compete for the 20k during the scholars weekend since I’m not even interested in attending Emory (due to it’s cost). He said he would call the next alternate, so I’m not the only one who knows.

Wow Stereo…sounds like we were cut from the same cloth…I love theatre also and have been in many theatre productions over my high school career…It 's a shame they really didn’t give us much space to elaborate on any of that, did they?

Are you planning on majoring in either music or theatre, and if so where have you decided to attend in the fall?

with all the creative stuff you’re so involved in , you wouldn’t happen to be a lefty like me , would you? lol

I’m sure you’ll do great and advance in this next round…You sound amazingly talented.

And congrat persian Princess…wonderful news!

I don’t know if I will get it or not. I am from a small school, 4.4 GPA, 35 ACT, and more extracurriculars than you can count. Alos, I am an Eagle Scout and founded a summer lunch program for all children in my community. I have 1000s of hours, but don’t know if that will help. My community activities are varied, but I hope to be lucky! Good luck to everyone and let’s all hope to meet in Atlanta!

Wow everyone seems to be involved in music! I’ve been playing Clarinet since 4th grade and I’ve been in county and all-state bands (got 1st chair in this year’s county honor band) and yeah while I’m probably not going to major in music I would like to continue playing in college. The only thing I’ve founded is a Disney Club at my school lol and I’ve been a Senate Page, other than that I got 2080 on my SAT and 31 on my ACT so I’m not really sure what they say in me :P. Oh and also about 400 hours accumulated from church volunteer service, Boy Scouts, and some other small stuff. Well that’s pretty much me! lol

I love hearing how much talent and caring is in our generation. There are 167 semifinalists alone in Texas. I don’t expect to advance but I am more aware than ever just how much more I can contribute.

wow…such amazingly talented individuals…No wonder it’s such a tough competition…

Kudos to everyone. I love to hear about everyone’s passion…we’re a part of the next generation of leaders. any one of us would make coca cola proud

congrats all on being so passionate and following through on your passions to make our generation push through to a better future.

Does anyone but Persianprincess know yet? I didn’t see anything on their website yet. And Congrats PersianPrincess. Super good news for you!!

I haven’t heard anything either…my anxiety is gradually changing to vexation…

Did anyone contact the Coke scholarship office and see if they will be posting today?

haha. Good Luck to you all :)

You too Rodriguez!

Ha, we were all fairly convinced it was going to be today, but wouldn’t it be funny if it wasn’t?!

Just kidding. That would, in fact, not be funny.

Haha. So what you guys doing?

a;sldkfj :D
