I've already been accepted into UT I'm just curious as to whether anyone has found out if they've been accepted into the Engineering school. I know decisions will come no later than March 1 but I was also wondering if anyone knew the earliest you could be accepted. Do they just send all the decisions on March 1 or do they send out a few throughout December, January, and February. If anyone has any info about this I'd greatly appreciate your input! Thanks.

haha we seem to be each others quickest responder, and yeah I looked over those people and by the looks of it they are exceptionally qualified, I haven’t seen anyone with similar stats to me that has been accepted yet. Also I only applied about a week ago so I probably need to give it a few more weeks. I’m nervous as well

Yea haha i think what they are doing is accepting the people with exceptional scores and not much competition against them (rank:1,2 or SAT: 2300+) and then accepting the other applicants at a later time. I wish everyone who got in would post their stats thou!

Hello, got accepted into Cockrell a few days ago for Mechanical Engineering. Just got my letter today, but it’s dated December 5, 2012. I am ranked number 1 in my school, but only scored a 2130 on my SATs. Best of luck to you guys! Just waiting for the possibility of honors now. :)

Wow I just created an account to hang out here but I’ve been accepted into Electrical Eng yesterday. I’m not ranked 1st (15th actually) but I got a 34 on my ACT so maybe that helped?

@goldtx: Yes, my online status actually changed before I received my letter, so I knew before I got the letter. I actually kind of was looking forward to the suspense of receiving a letter that determined my future, but with the rise of technology and all… : P

@courtneys when did you send in your application? i am ranked 15th but got a 32 on my ACT haha im so nervous! If you don’t mind can you post some of your stats please?

Oh yea and btw, guys i have a question. Do we have to accept our admission? or can we leave it pending until we find out our major? Will this have any affect on our acceptance into our major or not?

For other potential posters, if you have been accepted please let us all know the date of when you applied as well as the date of your acceptance. Sharing some of your stats would be helpful as well! Help us non-accepted students out, thanks again!

and btw cockrellhopeful there is no need to go ahead and accept their offer of admission, that shouldn’t make them any more likely to accept you

haha yay for same rank and same major application! I think you should be good A 32 is really good as well! And what other stats would you like to know? The only other thing I can think of is since my ACT math score was my worst score (surprisingly…), I sent in my SAT score as well because I got a 780 on the math section for my SAT. My essay was crap (lol) and I had a decent amount of extra curriculars. If you want specifics, I could type up my resume when I get home.

ACT Composite: 34
Math : 32
Science and Reading: 35 (my two worst sections lol)
English: 33

Just curious is the admission office closed during theses days- Christmas to New Year ?
I do not see much activities in CC either. Waiting is killing !

That’s something that I have been unsure about myself. It seems like they would try to accept at least a few over the brake considering they don’t have classes to deal with. They are competing for students with other colleges so it seems like they would try to get people accepted asap

FYI…the campus offices are closed from December 23 to January 1. They will reopen January 2. The admissions committees do not contend with classes. Their sole purpose is to sift through applications, but they get vacation, too. :)
