Cockrell Engineering- Has anyone heard back yet? When is the earliest they decide

Since the bulk of admission offers have already been made to the auto admits; any places left for non-auto admit Texans, OOS and International applicants would be only a few. I guess the admission decisions for these limited places not take long time. The last date for application was Nov 30. I don’t know why we have to wait till March 1 (3 months) !!

Well I was an auto-admit so I’ve already been accepted to the school I am just waiting to find out if I have been accepted into the engineering program

Still waiting for chem engineering. SAT 2,220 with math 770. SAT II math 800; chem 790 and ACT math 36. Have heard nothing so I am still concerned. Hope these scores with student council, pres. math club, 12 yrs. piano, Spanish state award, 4 yrs. basketball will be enough. Do you think so?

yeah you’re in easily I think

@pmichael - I have a very similar stat as yours, and also applied to Chem Eng. Just now checked the status, found still under review. I applied around the end of Nov. When did you applied ?

Same as you; end of Nov. Let me know if and when you hear. I was told we have to wait until Feb. for Engineering Honors.

Pmichael you’re pretty much in dude. as long as your gpa/rank was decent

Hey guys! I heard back from UT quite a while ago (mid-November, i think) and got excepted to the Biomedical Engineering program and Plan II honors, still waiting on Engineering Honors but they said that they will start letting those people know in Feb. Hope this helps!

Wow, TexasRanger, you have impressive stats! Congrats on your accomplishments. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble getting into Engineering Honors!

Thanks, I really hope so!

Gpa of 4.18 . #7 in class of #95. 11 AP courses- all 5. Calculus III- A+

Hey guys I just saw this post.
I’m am getting ready to turn in my application within the next few days and was wondering if y’all think i got a chance.

I am sophmore at UTSA doing mechanical engineering, and want to transfer to UT for petroleum engineering.

My gpa is currently 3.87
So far i have taken or im in:
-Calculus I & II
-Egr Physics I
-Chem I & II
-Statics

 • other gen ed classes.

I have not take many engineering classes since i had a few pre-reqs to knock out, and i recently got out of the military and had to refresh my memory. I did 4 years active and now I’m part of the selected reserves so hopefully that will help my application. I was not the best student in high-school but from my understanding it doesn’t really matter now.

Please let me know what y’all think. Thanks

All I can say is that since you did 4 yrs. active and now have the desire and determination, I sure as Hell hope you get in. My grandfather served with Special Forces in Viet Nam.

Anyone else get accepted recently? bumppp

New on here. So, nervous about being accepted. Finished my app on Nov. 30th.

Has anyone been accepted into EHP yet?

Is there automatic admission to Cockrell?

unfortunately no^

Seems everyone is still waiting. Last year they began hearing around 2/8/12 so still 4 more weeks. Lots of luck!

I just heard back that I got accepted to civil engineering (my first choice major)!
