Also, at UT people don’t become a CS major right away; they have to be admitted to the pre-CS major first and complete a number of prereqs before they become a CS major.

An exception is for a small of group of people who are accepted into the Turing Scholars Honors Program, in which case these “elite” people become a CS major immediately.

Just wondering, but has anybody been accepted to engineering honors yet? I’ve read mostly that acceptances are mailed out in mid-February, but the letter I got with my Cockrell acceptance says they begin mailing them in January.

I’m an auto admit in state but i originally applied to McCombs in October and was accepted. However, i decided to switch my major to petroleum engineering like a week ago. I have a 4.15 weighted gpa, rank 121/1544 and a 2120 SAT(780math, 670 reading, 670 writing)

I checked MyPortal today and it says I got accepted. The decision may have been made earlier, but I didn’t check until today. I didn’t get an email and I haven’t received a letter yet.
