Cockrell Engineering Honors Acceptance Letters

I just got mine in the mail! It hasn’t updated on MyStatus yet, but mine was marked February 27th. Anyone else receive letters yet/interested in posting stats?

Where do you live in the nation? :o

same @kiriii :smile:

@Bunnizor Texas resident! Probably why I’m hearing back so early.

They made it to Louisiana, too.

@kirii just curious what were your stats?

S got his acceptance to engineering honors today as well. We are in Dallas. His letter also included a four year academic scholarship offer.

He is mechanical engineering. Ranked top 1% in one of largest public high schools in the state. 2230/1510 SAT. 750 SAT IIs in math and literature. NM Commended. 14 AP classes, 5s on all exams.

Four year varsity athlete. Multiple honor societies. Volunteer work feeding the elderly summers for four years.

@Texasmomof3‌ i would be surprised if he didn’t get in to honors and a scholarship lol

No way I’m getting honors, haha. I can always dream! Congrats to everyone who got EHP :slight_smile:

@imthereal Hey man, just keep believing. I’m pretty sure you’re a strong enough applicant to get it. :slight_smile:

@Tgb2016 2350 (770M/800CR/780W), 34 ACT, 800M2, 790Ch, 770B-M, 740P, 3% (20/640), 4.38 WGPA, 3.7ish UWGPA.

@Texasmomof3,

Nice stats and nicely deserved. By the way, for honors, is there any difference in criteria between in-state and out-of-state students? Any ideas?

@kiri,

Your stats rocks. You should have got admissions in other better institutions too with good aid I guess.

@midclassdad I think selection for Honors would be the same - OOS selection is different strictly because the applicant pools must be segregated, but Honors should select based on the entire accepted engineering applicant pool. Thanks, too - I’m still waiting for my real dream Uni, haha.

My D received hers yesterday too. Also four year academic scholarship offer.

@comptechmom,

Is your D in-state? Can you share her stats?

@midclassdad Yes In-state and local. SAT: 2290 (once) 790M/780W, ACT: 36 (once), Top 1%, UWGPA: 3.83 WGPA: 4.58/5 SAT Subjects: M2:770, Physics & Chem: 730, AP Classes (5’s so far), IB Diploma candidate.

@comptechmom,

Great stats. All the best for your daughter. In-state or out-of-state, scores are great. Is it updated already on mystatus for your daughter?

@comptechmom,

You should be proud of your daughter. In-state or Out-of-State, stellar scores. Is Mystatus updated for your daughter on Honors or you just got snail mail?

@comptechmom,

Did not realize I posted once. both posts are almost in same lines.

@midclassdad Snail mail - admissions packet as well as letters arriving separately. Mystatus has not been updated.
