Cockrell Engineering Question

What happens if i got accepted into the university but have not been able to show math readiness i scored a 560 and a 570 im taking the subject test on december 5th but i doubt the scores will make it by the deadline

It is not a problem. The math readiness proof can come in later, it is just for placement.

so will i be admitted into the college? my rank is 3 out of 389 students im student council president, National Honor society president and was junior and now senior class vice president. Also on math team and varsity golf team member for two years

It will not affect your acceptance into UT or engineering. The math test is only used for placement. If you don’t score high enough on it, you will be required to take M305G before you can take calculus. If you have good SAT/ACT scores to go with that great class rank, you should have no problem. Good luck!

Hookem, you will have to show math readiness - see the engineering information on the ut website.

you can take the ALEKS test also.

whats the aleks test

It’s a math readiness test that the college of natural science was using that engineering is now using as well. It isn’t on the website, but when we went for the admissions meeting in Austin, they said they were using it now, and actually preferred it over the SAT2 because of issues they were having receiving SAT2 scores on time.

Contact engineering admissions - they’ll tell you how, where and when to sign up, they are extremely helpful!!

ok thanks a lot
