I am a junior in high school, but I have already started to think about college. I want to go to UT austin for engineering, but I'm afraid that I won't get accepted because it is very competitive. I am ranked in the top 4% of my high school, so I know I will automatically get accepted into the university. I have taken AP and honors courses. Next year I will be in Calculus because I know that they have a calculus pre-requisite for engineering. I have not been in any extracurriculars, so I don't know if this will hurt my chances. My first choice would be chemical engineering and my second choice would be mechanical engineering. I just want to know if I am on the right track to getting accepted into the school of engineering and what I should do to get there.

What are your SAT/ACT scores? ChemE generally takes about the top 5%, but you have to have good test scores (M/CR) as well. They don’t seem to care about too much else.
