Hey guys, it is almost time for me to begin visiting colleges, as I have just finished sophomore year. I am interested in becoming a chemical engineer, and UT, as well as UMINN, and TAMU, have reached the top of my list due to economic reasons (UMICH is simply too expensive 60k a year..). I have done some research on UT Cockrell School of Engineering, however I am confused about how one gets into this program: Do you apply to UT normally, and then after freshmen year, admitted based on your GPA, or out of high school do you have to apply to Cockrell and get in? Thank you any help is much appreciated!

You apply to the engineering school in high school. Of course, you can transfer in later, but that is complicated.

Ok, thank you.
