I'm trying to convince my S that he should go to one of the co-curricular programs this summer. He isn't comfortable but I think it would be a great way for him to meet other freshman. Should I keep pushing??

We encouraged our son to do it last year. We thought it would help him meet people before it got crazy and crowded (he tends to be shy) and, for our sake, we got to move him in early so we avoided the craziness of moving in on the same day as the vast majority of students. Our son wasn’t thrilled about registering for it, but he liked the idea of being on his own a few days earlier & did meet the kid who will now be his roommate sophomore year.

The people I know who did them had a lot of fun, but it won’t make/break your GW experience. I wouldn’t really force the issue if he doesn’t want to do it.
