Would anyone know the average gpa in the College of Engineering? Specifically, Mechanical Engineering. This semester has pretty much shot my self-esteem with a 12 guage shotgun. I was hoping I wasnt alone in the sub 3.0 area. :(

This?

[Why Berkeley Engineers Succeed — UC Berkeley College of Engineering](http://coe.berkeley.edu/students/prospective-students/choosing-berkeley-engineering/berkeley-engineers-succeed.html)

^^ I love your username

Here… This might make it clearer…

Berkeley Engineering Student Average GPA

Freshman: 2.80
Sophomore: 3.16
Junior: 3.17
Seniors: 3.25
Overall: 3.20

Seniors:
3.7+: 20%
3.5+: 35%
3.0-3.49: 36%

Nice. Another MechE. I’m one too. The classes just keep on getting more difficult I tell you
:(

The actual GPA is bit higher than that because those who really suck will either drop out/transfer out of Berkeley or receive academic prohibition. It sounds like I am ■■■■■■■■ you hard, but the reality is, but if your GPA is below 3.0 even as an engineer, you should blame yourself for being lazy or just not being smart enough compared to others.

“you should blame yourself for being lazy”

^yes

“or just not being smart enough compared to others.”

^no

I don’t think the second half of that statement is very fair. Some people work very hard but cannot succeed because of the think competition here; it’s not their fault, though.
