CoE R&C "Deadline"

Is there such a deadline? It says R&C A "should" be completed freshman year and R&C B "should" be completed sophomore year. Is this a deadline or a recommendation? All the easier R&C classes were full last semester so I didn't take one. My telebears appt. isn't for another week and a half and the R5A's and other easy ones have pretty much filled up already.

My schedule up until I found this out was Math 53, Physics 7B, E7, and Scandinavian R5A(R&C). If I'm going to take an R&C with this schedule I need it to be easy, but I don't see how it's even possible to enroll in one. Is it okay to put this off another semester or am I going to end up having to take summer classes or something to make up my R&Cs?

Also, now that I won't be taking Scandinavian R5A, I need some suggestions for another class (perhaps a seminar? or I could just leave my schedule at 12 units)....?

bumpity bump, could really use some help

I’m also interested in this subject, only for the second half of the requirement, and for Letters and Science. When do people normally take these classes?! I thought they were for mostly freshmen but it appears as though sophomores/juniors with earlier telebears times are eating up all the spots in the ‘good’ R&C classes.

I don’t think they’ll really care as long as you get it done by graduation. R&C classes (esp. part b) are usually a mix of freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.

It’s a recommendation, but I strongly suggest you take it. It’s going to be increasingly difficult for you to get in R&C classes as your status advance, and you’re going to feel more and more out of place at the same time.

The earlier you take them, the more you benefit, unless they’re in lieu of some other class which you’d benefit more from.

As an EECS student, those classes were one of my main sources for meeting people of the opposite gender. ;)
