<p>Are coffee machines allowed at MIT?</p>
<p>My dorm (Random Hall) definitely allows you to own whatever bizarre kitchen implements you want to own, including coffee machines. I’m confident that other dorms with large kitchens also allow students to own their own kitchen implements; if you live in a dorm with a dining plan but no kitchens, I can’t imagine anyone being opposed to you keeping a coffee machine in your room.</p>
<p>I have a french press, which is way more awesome than a coffee machine and has the added bonus of not requiring electricity (you just have to boil water, which you can do on a stove). It also makes way tastier coffee. I’d highly recommend getting one instead of a regular drip machine.</p>
