Coffee makes me sleepy!

Last week I tried coffee for the first time to wake me up. It was a Iced Mocha Latte it was really good, but made me fall asleep 10 minutes later. Today I had regular coffee, to wake me up. I'm drowsy and ready to fall asleep any minute now. For some reason coffee has a reverse affect on me. I get less alert and sleepy. I should drink coffee before I go to bed, cause I have trouble falling asleep. Does this happen to anyone else? And no I won't drink energy drinks they have the same effect and way too sweet for me. Tea makes me sleep also, basically anything with caffeine has this effect.

You should just try getting a sufficient night’s sleep if caffeine won’t help. Besides, it’s not good to be dependent on caffeine for energy. If anything, you should try yoga and stretching in the morning to revitalize your muscles and give you more energy!

If you’re wicked tired already, coffee still won’t do much [unfortunately I found this out only after I pulled an all-nighter and then had a full day of school and a soccer game the next day]. That said, on a normal day, coffee gives me that extra jolt to get me fully awake [after a full or almost full night’s sleep].

It’s strange but the same thing happens to me!
I never understood how coffee (or any type of caffeinated drink for that matter) makes people hyper or more awake.
I don’t really see it as a negative though because I think I’m better off than the kids in my school that are already practically addicted to coffee and can’t function without it…

For me if I consume more than what’s needed to be consumed, it works for a while, but later in the day I feel extra tired.

try strong tea. Coffee makes me sleepy too. Every time I am to stay up I drink tea as much as possible.

^Yea, I may start putting less water in my tea to make it stronger.

drink more water

Drink 5 hour energy. Through your eye sockets. While doing yoga of course.

I’m going to souns extremely gross by saying this probably but I can’t understand how people can consume so much caffeine with their bladders still functioning regularly.
