My DS just got accepted into Cognitive/Behavioral Neuroscience (undergrad) at UCSD. He applied to this program because he was interested in it, as well as his HS counselor telling him that UCSD’s program is reputable. Does anyone have any links to data supporting this claim? What is the job outlook for someone with just an undergrad degree?
CogSci is an excellent department at UCSD. Our GS went CogSci after being placed in “undeclared” when he didn’t get into Electrical Engineering at Jacobs. He ended up liking the major so much he did not compete for the EE placement at the end of the year. He was in the Neural Computation and Machine Learning concentration. He graduated and is now with a large engineering firm and seems very happy with his choice. I don’t know more than that, except that when I spoke with a data scientist who was a speaker at a conference I was at for work, and mentioned the CogSci program (which was newly discussing launching a Data Science major at thee times) , she was very complimentary of the quality of the program and research there. Best wishes on the decisions ahead.
@UVaWiseGuy thanks! I appreciate the info.
