Cognitive Science at UCI

Hi everyone,

I recently got accepted to UCI as a psychological sciences major for fall 2019, and was debating whether I should switch to cognitive science because I am interested in a lot of the courses that it offers. I would like to point out that I do want to go to graduate school to become a physician assistant so I’m not worried about career outcomes, rather I am interested if the major is exciting. All I have heard is that it has to do with “artificial intelligence” which is the factor that is making me shy away from it because I am not interested in the computer programming component. Any insight or suggestions whether to continue with the same major or switch would be much appreciated!

One more question, can anyone take general classes like CHEM 1B, because it is a prerequisite for PA school, but when I checked the course catalog, it mentioned certain majors had priority, how likely is it I can fit in these general courses?
