COLA or UGS 2nd major

I am a biology major and I'm applying for Fall 2014, I am scared that since I won't have calculus when I apply that I won't be accepted. I talked to the admissions office in San Antonio and the advisor made it seem like I'd be automatically rejected for not having it.. Should I change my major all together? I was going to put COLA - psychology for my 2nd major, but she also said that it was reeeeally competitive so I had to have at least a 3.7. (Which is manageable, but there's still that chance that I won't) Should I put UGS instead? Or change psych to my 1st major and UGS as my 2nd..?

i have the same problem!

You might be surprised but there are schools in Texas that don’t have calculus classes at all.
You probably misunderstood the admissions office in San Antonio. It was probably about calculus readiness .

Calculus Readiness Requirement (for applicants to Engineering, Geosciences, and Environmental Science in Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences)

To be considered for admission to these majors, you must meet the calculus readiness requirement. You can show calculus readiness by submitting one of the following by the admissions deadline:

A SAT Math score of 600 or above
An ACT Math score of 26 or above
An AB or BC Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus Test score of 3 or higher
An International Baccalaureate (IB) HL or SL Mathematics score of 4 or higher
An official college or university transcript showing credit for a college-level Calculus I (or higher) course with a grade of “C” or higher
An ALEKS score of 80 or above

Thanks @Ya Ya, the only problem is that I will be transferring from a CC. I’ll have my Pre-cal and I’ll be taking Calc 1 over the summer, but I really don’t want to be rejected for not having it when I apply. If I don’t have it will they automatically look over my app or will they look at all of the other stuff that I have to offer? Is the calculus requirement for Bio, or just Environmental?
