Colby Class of 2025 -- Regular Decision Date: Mid-March

Does anyone know if they will relax in-person tour restrictions for accepted students? Colby is at the top of my son’s list but he’s never visited. Tough to make a final decision without seeing the school.

I got the Bunche Scholar email last month but no mention of it in my acceptance letter

Accepted without the presidential scholar email!

how do we even write a loci when waitlisted? colby is by far my top school but i just feel like the odds are not in my favor lol

Got waitlisted. I’m a little surprised as I got into more selective schools but Colby is so selective in its own right so I’m not mad lol. Not accepting waitlist spot as I’ve already committed to dream university (Cambridge in the U.K.). Well done/good luck to everyone!

guys what if I don’t have any update on my portal

did you check every tab on the portal? maybe refresh it? if that doesn’t work, you should probably email admissions

I tried everything

Did you get the email?

No, I don’t have any new message from Colby admission

Check your spam… I would call them.

I checked

ahh that’s really stressful i’m sorry :frowning: i hope they reply quickly

I just emailed the admissions, hope they reply.

My D21 was the opposite - Accepted at Bates, WL at Colby. Oh well, she’s pretty pragmatic about it and was not expecting to get an acceptance everywhere in this environment. Congrats to those who got in.

I think last year they sent them out a while afterwards? Congratulations, I’m so glad to hear you got in - I did too!!

Yay!!!

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! And to everyone who was not, please keep in mind what others have said - holistic admissions can be very unpredictable. All of you will land somewhere you were meant to be! You truly just never know what spots these selective schools are looking to fill, especially in the RD round. I think Colby is making an effort to have a student body that is more diverse socio-economically, culturally, geographically, and academically than it has historically been. They are a need aware school but they are also generous with financial aid for students they admit. Could it be part of a decision factor? Maybe, but it is just a piece of the overall puzzle.

FYI, my daughter is a first-year at Colby, received the presidential scholar email last year, did not receive notification with her acceptance, but did receive an email about it five days later. She also received both letters in her admissions packet in the mail which arrived a little while later. I’m not sure if that was the case with the other scholar programs but I would not be surprised if their notifications came later as well. Keep in mind you can always reach out to your AO or FA if you have questions.

Best of luck to all of you as you discern your next steps!
