Colby Regular Decision 2022

My thoughts as a parent are, she is solid.Few spots and incredible numbers and another great surge of applicants everywhere means our kids wont get in a lot of places. Especially at these Little Ivies. One Ivy school on their website flat out says that 8/10 valedictorians are rejected. There just aren’t enough spots at any given school for the many wonderful applicants they are getting. It is a darn lottery. Keep telling her that. She is incredible. She will do great things, just not at (fill in the blank) school.

Thank you @Meddy for your wonderful thought (…and is that a Mini Labradoodle…cuz ours is :-)…It’s what we say…it’s what she says. She gets it, but still, after all the years of sacrifice & commitment…it’s tough. She has 10 schools left…but she thought Colby/Bates might perhaps be more likely matches than others…so she’s stressed … but wise. …already in @ UW Seattle…but really wants to go east.

@pl1212 Nice to see another Texan

@JacksonCoop She is a Morky that may just get her own room when D18 goes off to college :))

Perhaps they thought I wouldn’t attend because I was too engineering-focused, which turned out to be true. I got accepted to Cornell, so I removed myself from Colby’s waitlist. Perhaps someone here will benefit!

Based on this stream, I feel like I am underqualified. It all kind of depends on who is reading your application. It is pretty brutal knowing that this huge decision could all come down to how the person who reads your application is feeling that day.

Good luck to all

Does Colby send an acceptance packet by mail?

Common app essay about my best friend

To be frank, I forgot I even applied to Colby because I did it on a whim, as the application fee was free and there was no supplemental essay. And when I was accepted, I honestly didn’t feel anything because I knew nothing about the school (not even what state it was located in), but after doing some research it seems like a great school and is one of my top choices at the moment!

@rachelnguyn I’m in the same situation - I applied because a transfer student from Maryland from my HS told me about it. After a Colby rep visited my school I decided to apply because it was free and there was no essay. I didn’t realize how good of a school it was and now it is one of my top choices!

REJECTED White male from Oklahoma - 4.2 GPA, 31 ACT - senior and junior class president and 4 years of rowing

I was accepted and want to attend the “Admitted Student Program” but I can’t find a link on line to register… have you?

Did all Colby admits get a letter from an alum urging them to attend? If so, was it from an alum in your area?
