Colby Transfers for Fall 2011

Applied for Fall as a transfer student, does anyone know when we hear back? or the transfer acceptance rate?

According to the website we’ll hear back before or on may 15th, I’m really hoping it will be earlier than that though. The transfer acceptance rate is very low, somewhere around 10-30%?

I am so nervous- Colby was a stretch for me… What is your major?

I’m an english major and I’m also interested in Government and Philosophy. Got my letter yesterday, unfortunately I didn’t get in, but Colby was a bit of stretch for me too so I’m not all that surprised about it. It said on the letter that they accepted less than 10 students. Hopefully I can make myself look a little more attractive and apply in the fall, as well as to a few less difficult schools. Good luck to you and anyone else who applied!

just received my letter as well I didn’t get in.
What did they say in yours? they mentioned only 10 spots being available? is that possibly or even true?

that’s weird…i still haven’t heard anything. where do you two live? are they sending them in waves or something?

Yeah it said the same on my letter about accepting less than ten people. I think its generally pretty common for them considering it’s a small school with a really high retention rate and usually over 100 people apply for transfer.

I live in Maine and go to school in Massachusetts.
