Colby v Holy Cross v Trinity

I am trying to make my final college choice between these three schools. I would be studying languages and looking to either walk on to a sport team or participate in club sports particularly shooting or sailing. Any suggestions for picking between these schools?

Are you outdoorsy, like skiing and hiking? If so, choose Colby.

Colby if you are interested in outdoorsy stuff. There is a lot of shooting in the Trinity neighborhood, but not the sportsman kind :slight_smile: Colby is in a better location than HC.

@suzyQ7 Thanks for they laugh!

These 3 schools have more similarities than differences. Can’t go wrong with any of them. All are sporty and a bit preppy. While all small, Holy Cross, at 3,000 will feel bigger than Colby at 1800. Colby location is pretty with access to the great outdoors. but Holy Cross near Boston and Providence which is also nice to have. Holy Cross is D1, so not sure if it would be harder to walk on there. It does have many choices for study abroad in terms of locations and duration to complement a Spanish major. To me, HC seemed to do the best job of fostering community. But you really have 3 great and similar choices
Have you gone back for revisits?

I revisited both Trinity and HC for a day and did a three day trip to Colby. I really didn’t get any kind of “click” moment with any of them but I really started to like Colby towards the end of my trip (could be duration of stay or familial connection I’m not sure).i really love the gothic architecture of Trinity and the outdoor offerings of Colby. Originally my top school was Dartmouth so I was looking to either transfer or spend a semester/year there. Trinity has an exchange with Dartmouth and so does Colby, but at Colby it’s only offered to engineering students so I’m not sure if I would be able to study away there without being a engineering major.

“I really love the Gothic architecture of Trinity”

Trinity does have a really nice campus.

“I really started to like Colby”

Though I’d weight this more heavily.
