Which of these two schools would be better for a student interested in earth science or environmental science? The two programs both seem to be quite well reputed.

Thanks.

Bowdoin has a definite edge. Its geology program is nearly twice the size of Colby’s, and it offers better research facilities in ecology and marine science. Either can get you into graduate school, however.

If you’re okay with extremely small colleges, you should also take a look at the College of the Atlantic.

All right, thank you for the response. I will keep those in mind.

I am having such a hard time deciding between these two schools! I tried posting this question on the individual boards, but did not get any responses.

Don’t know if you’ve done this already, but it is a good idea to look at the number and type of faculty and the number and type of courses offered in the relevant departments at each school.

Thanks for the advice. I did that. Both schools look fairly reputable, and have lots of specialized professors.

Bump! Any other good answers out there?
