Colby vs. Connecticut: Premed

*Which college has better Premed programs, Colby or Connecticut? How are the research and internship facilities, professors, study abroad and career counseling? Which has better biological sciences domination and higher med school placement? *

anyone there to answer?

There is probably little difference between Conn, Colby, and on either end, Hamilton or Skidmore, etc. in premed. As far as Conn is concerned, every student is eligible for a $3,000.00 internship, there are summer research groups, and students who finished with solid GPA’s (3.5 and up) and who score decently on the MCATS get into med school. I doubt Conn is unique in this regard. I think what you are asking is if either college will provide special programs or shortcuts into med school. I think unless you go to a college like Williams or Harvard where slightly lower grades my still gain you entrance into med school, as long as you go to a top 50 college and take care of grads and MCATS, then you are fine.

Ultimately, no one can answer this question because no one has attended both colleges and taken full advantage of both college’s professors and facilities. Judging by the number of my peers at Conn who have attended med school coupled with Colby’s reputation, I think its a safe bet that there is virtually no difference between the pre med “programs” at either school.
