Coldplay

The O.C. features a lot of the bands mentioned here...

I take it you haven't seen Coldplay play in AustraliA then! They released a DVD it was fantastic....it just proves Indie isn't abou poor college boys that play on no bigger places than social clubs!!

This is true. The line between indie and mainstream is getting blurry in some cases... I mean, I will be seeing Interpol play an arena in a month. Last time, it was a coffee shop.

Oh well, at least Tilly & the Wall, of Montreal, Mates of State and Sufjan Stevens are playing small venues... until the OC finds them.

I wouldn't say that Coldplay is indie. They're fairly mainstream. However, I will be seeing them live in September at ACL.

I'm going to the Coldplay Concert in WA in a week!

It makes me so sad that I've never been to a concert...ever. :(

me neither

Awww :-( I don't mean to rub it in but you guys seriously need to get ya ass's movin' concerts are amazing.Awards and mixed festivals are good to start with if you ain't been to a gig b4.I started with the NME tour in 2000 it was brilliant...of course before then the Spice Girls and Boyzone but they dont count.

Well the Warped Tour is here this weekend, but that's not really my kind of music.

Zante, if you live in NY there's tons of concerts to go to. Just look out for them.

I've only been to 2 so far.

Death Cab for Cutie last year. Really cool concert. The venue was a small club, and the fans were off. it got really hot and people were being exhausted by the heat. Ben Gibbard managed to get the owners to turn on the fans and then the band gave us bottles of water from their tour truck

Spoon concert a few months ago. The opening acts kind of sucked... they were good, I nearly passed out during the concert though (think my blood was circulating poorly)

Ha I guess that makes it even sadder that I haven't been to one.
I guess it's just because there are only 3 bands I'd be interested in seeing.

Really, who? Do you only listen to three bands? Or just wouldn't spend money to see anyone else you listen to?

Exactly!Make the most of were in the world you live.If I settled for the crap that plays in my city I'd listen to Mel C and James Brown wannabies!Though the Student Guild in Liverpool here cateres for everyone. The Coral, B.R.M.C and The Zutons play here regularly its great.Manchester Academy and Wembly are probably the best for well established bands like Coldplay,U2,Oasis and The Verve.

usually indie concerts are cheap, no more than 15 bucks for ticks. thats why I like them too.

Good point dcfa, tho I have payed over £300 just to see bands. What bands are you into Zante?Do you get compilation CD's?Thats how I find out about new bands/artists and I sometimes get hold of demos too theyre full of "nearlies"

Well the three I would pay to see are Postal Service, Maroon 5 and Jack Johnson. I haven't really found a lot of new music lately, and I listen to some hiphop but I wouldn't really want to see that in concert.

Maroon 5 ay!Good theyre cool and sieze to flop.I think JT is just trying too hard to fit in with the Hip Hop/R'n'b scene. And he seems tohave won Snoop over lately!!

I like a lot of Maroon 5's stuff from before they were famous (they used to be known as Kara's Flowers). Hmm now does that count as indie?

Really!I think they are sort of Indie they are quite poppie tho.Whats theyre album like?I fancy the lead singer so I'm bound not to dis them lol :-D

I think they're pretty unique in their sound. They combine a lot of pop/R&B...their songs are quite catchy actually.
