@tdd2015 ya just paranoid I think… because why would they tell you to check the portal when they could just email you the rejection directly. Maybe internationals were emailed because they considered the time it takes for a letter to arrive?
Best thing is to wait it out.
All decisions will be posted on the portal, so I don’t think the email has anything to do with who’s getting a letter in the mail vs. who isn’t.
Are acceptances posted on the portal?
I think all acceptances and rejections will be on the portal and accepted students will receive a package in the mail, even international students. In previous years, before Colgate started posting decisions on the portal, international students would receive an email if they were rejected but receive a package if accepted. Have some people still not received the email?
International student here didn’t get the email. What did the email write? Can someone copy it for me?
@quitpro decisions out on 17th, 13:13 EDT, check if you are able to log into your portal. If not contact Admissions Office
Thank you @fluffysimba for the 13.13 pm
don’t know why Colgate decides to post decisions on portal this year.lol
Do you think it is good or bad that I got an email. Concerned as to the fact that some people didn’t
Hi everyone. The email was sent to ALL regular decision applicants, and all were sent at the same time with the same content. If you did not receive an email, check your spam folder. We may also have an incorrect email address on file. The important thing is that everyone is able to login to their status page at connect.colgate.edu/status on Saturday. If you have trouble, contact us right away!
All decisions will be released at 1:13 PM eastern time on Saturday. Accepted students will receive an acceptance packet in the mail next week as well (including international).
And to answer why we are posting on the portal this year - because we want everyone to have access to their decision at the same time, straight from us!
still no emails, but I can log into my portal.
I was one of the posters who said they hadn’t received an email. DS went back and found it. Sorry to add to the confusion.
I didn’t receive an email for real…
@RyanHWayne We are on the same boat. lol
I think it’s hard to tell what this means. On the one hand, the email and ColgateAdmin said the email was sent to all regular decision applicants. On the other hand, some people still have not received the email and post #37 said their son got the email on the 12th and most of us got it on the 13th. I can’t say as to whether or not it is good or bad to get the email, but I do know that, for example, when a teacher tells me I should check my grades online it usually means good news. Then again, I overanalyze a LOT of details.
@hmg1999 I can assure you that you are overthinking this one! I wrote and set up the email, and I can promise you we sent it to all regular decision applicants, to the email address we have on file.
@RyanHWayne and @quitpro You should email us at admission@colgate.edu right away with your name so we can make sure we have the right email address on file. If you can’t login to your status page you will not be able to view your decision tomorrow!
You guys I’m so excited and anxious! We receive Colgate’s decision tomorrow. I pray that all you guys get in!!! :))
