Has anyone received their big acceptance package/letter in the mail yet?
No, I am wondering where it is. I thought they were mailed last Monday and I live in MA so it should be here in 4 days. We have USPS Informed Delivery emails and it isn’t scheduled to be here today either:(
For those waiting on the acceptance packets - they were sent via USPS Priority Mail on Friday, March 23, so they will be arriving this week.
Thank you!
I just got my acceptance package in the mail today! I received a calendar, a packet with information about Colgate, and my financial aid documents and acceptance letter. My acceptance letter also included a personal note about my CA essay. If anyone else has gotten the package, did you get a similar handwritten note?
@gmjrom2022 Can i read your CA essay? You may send to my PM
Just got my package in FL, and I also got a little note about my CA essay
Was anyone deferred ED and then accepted/rejected?
Daughter was accepted and also got personal note re:essay. I was very impressed with that touch.
Mine included a very personal handwritten note about my CA essay! glad they took the time to do that, it really shows a lot.
Have any international students received a package yet?
Accepted.
Female, private school, TX
ACT 32; 3.92 UW; 9 APs
Main ECs: student gov prez, env/social outreach club prez, 4 years all-state swimming (NOT swimming in college), swim team captain, 1st place TX state private school art competition (submitted portfolio with app)
Other schools considering: Whitman (WA); Rhoades (TN); Emory (GA)
Waitlisted: Middlebury; Wesleyan
Rejected: Cornell, Tufts, Swarthmore
Leaning toward Whitman (full scholarship + parents alma mater) or Colgate (v. small ‘pat on the back’ aid); willing to reconsider if I come off the waitlist at Middlebury or Wesleyan. Middlebury waitlist offers are apparently scarce, but Wesleyan is annually 50-55% offered by early June.
- More than happy to humbly accept at any of the above schools. Not hung up on rep or ranking. I think it’s mostly BS promoted by the schools to boost online rep/ranking and the endowment (and cater to over-competitive parents) … I will say the Colgate YES packet is really well done, very enticing, using a quote from one the rec letters is clever and adds a personal touch.
International student who has still not not received an acceptance packet which is disappointing as all other schools have sent one and I would love to receive one from Colgate soon as well
Why remain disappointed out of lack of information? Contact the Office of Admission and ask for resolultion.
Good luck with your college search!
did you get an email saying you were accepted, sb0110??
really doesn’t get more frustrating that all the above.
I’m applying next year to Colgate and everyone posting the single word, “Rejected” with zero information about stats.
How does it even benefit anything at all to write that? It’s more effort for you to start typing the word ‘rejected’ than to sit there and just watch youtube or something. Why waste your time? If your going to write accepted or rejected atleast offer up a little help with a gpa or sat for others to get an idea. Otherwise it’s just a nonsensical word attached to a fictitious name.
I got in. Male, Public School FL, ACT 30, 3.6/4.0, In IB with 11 APs. Top 10% in school. Main EC: Captain of tennis, Pres of National Hispanic Honor Society, Pres of Social Studies Honor, In English Honor, National Honor, and Math Honor. 400+ service hours at local church. Heavily involved with music with multiple superior ratings at state competitions Considering FSU (received highest merit scholarship, Honors, and a special undergrad research program) UF(Very good aid because in state tuition and in Honors), Rutgers ( Honors and I have fam in NJ). Waitlisted at : Kenyon, Whitman, GWU. Also the Colgate admit packet is mad intimidating. It says “you’ve earned a seat amongst the brightest minds in the world.” Also Gary Ross, VP of Fin Aid, wrote on my admit letter saying he really enjoyed my additional essay so don’t screw around with those because they really read those!
