Yes, financial aid reduces chances, I am intl also, applying for almost full aid.

What do you mean without financial aid?

Yes, financial aid reduces chances, I am intl also, applying for almost full aid.

What do you mean without financial aid?

@konspace: I didn’t apply for financial aid at UChicago and to some other top colleges… ( Ivys, Duke, Swarthmore… )

@Americandream13,

I thought you needed Financial Aid.

Colgate Admissions on facebook:
all students should have their decision within the next week, including international students.

I had just emailed Colgate University asking them how would international students received decisions.

Here’s the reply:

*
*

someone just said on facebook that they do not give out any form of electronic acceptance/rejection notification what so ever, so i guess we’ll just have to suck it up and wait

But why did they say it would be March 20 I am all stressed out. Well I think all we have to do is wait.

@cluds4

but they might be sending emails depending on your location and decision.

Sad then, Its already 1:02 AM back home so I am planning to go to sleep rather than wait for an email which might never come!

No, they’ll email some international students…

Another email I received, from Colgate University, just now:

*
*

That sounds great, FedEx is pretty fast.

@Americandream13,
where are you from?

For those worrying about not being accepted to Colgate because of FA I got in ED II with a tremendous amount of FA. So do not worry.

Does anyone get any notification?

I can’t login to moodle either. Can any of you guys login?

@Philhughes: Congratulations!!! :)

By the way, are you an International student? I guess Colgate is need blind for American students but need aware for International students so there is a big difference between an American applying for aid and an International applying for aid!

I’m an international (Caribbean) and I got a massive amount of aid.

That’s really impressive.

philhughes,

would you mind posting you SAT & SAT II results?

@Philhughes: Great… Really great…

What were your stats like? Perfect scores and loads of ECs and awards?

BTW… Do you watch cricket?.. loving WI bashing Zim… specially Shillingford’s bowling…

No nothing impressive.
SAT I 1990 (M 720 & CR 650) I suck at writing which is weird cause they complimented my essay in my acceptance letter personal message.
SAT II World History 750
No major awards only reached national twice in a biology competition.
Didn’t read my rec letters but I do think they were great cause they all really like me and have great respect for me plus my counselor is great with rec letters.
I don’t play any sports (only for fun!) Great community service record though.
Don’t know how I got in I guess they just really wanted someone from my country.

No I don’t watch cricket it’s all about baseball here! I do LOVE tennis though (Andy Murray!!).
Where are you guys from?

I’m frrom Hawaii and I think I’ll receive my decision pretty late lol

You say you are fromt the Caribbean PhilHughes? I’m from Jamaica, which island are you?.
I have 1880 for SAT but did sports throughout high school, kung fu. What did you get for your CSEC’S and CAPE’s btw. Im wondering if that has any bearings on our results. I am regular decision and asked for aid too.
