Accepted, saw my decision on the portal.
I am guessing if there is no portal change it’s a rejection? Acceptances and Waitlists need a portal change to respond.
You should probably call to make sure though
Received in NE Ohio. Beautiful note with acceptance.
Here’s the accepted message I have on my portal:
"Congratulations! Our admission decision letters have been sent and we trust that you have received your decision. We were delighted to offer you admission into the Colgate community.
To complete your enrollment at Colgate simply check the box below agreeing to the terms and conditions of your acceptance, complete the credit card information, and submit. Alternatively, you may send the enrollment agreement you received in your acceptance packet with a check or money order by the deadline indicated in your acceptance letter."
I would guess that yes, no portal change means rejection.
The waitlist portal has a similar message that asks you to accept or deny a place on the waitlist. So it looks like anyone who hasn’t gotten their decision yet can probably check it this way.
Guys, I got accepted to Hamilton college, Colgate university, and U of Rochester, they are all my top choices, I want to major in engineer, so which school would be the best for me to be in the field of engineering.( all three offered me vey generous financial package, so money is not a factor). Any advices would be hopeful for me !
D just received her waitlist letter today (we saw it last week on the portal). It took a full week to arrive and we live in CT. D also received an acceptance from a school in PA today; those letters were just mailed on Friday. The mail is unpredictable.
I didn’t receive the official decision letter yet but when i logged into my portal, it says:
“Colgate’s Office of Admission has appreciated the contact we have had with you through your college search. We understand that you are eager to learn the outcome of your application. The application review phase is now complete. We plan to communicate our admission decisions soon. We do not display decisions on the portal and we do not give out decisions over the phone. We thank you again for your interest in Colgate and give you our best wishes for your college career”
Does that pretty mean a rejection (since many here suggested that a portal change is a must have for accepted/waitlisted applicants)?

Why you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted? I think that I’m a well rounded applicant.
General Comments:
Other schools you applied to and their decisions: Alabama (Accepted) Clemson (Accepted), Cornell (Rejected), Columbia (still waiting:Hope to get in on Ivy Day!), and SUNY GENESEO (Accepted)
Giving up my spot - hopefully it gets somebody off the waitlist!
I just gave up my spot. Good luck to those on the waitlist.
Thought I’d share the story ending for DD.
Although accepted w/ a 15k grant, I could tell she was hesitant.
I don’t know how she determined this opinion, but she felt she didn’t fit in with the perceived wealth, for lack of a better word, of the students/families.
So it was a fit decision to not even attend accepted students day.
Decision was to attend UofR - 19k/y scholarship.
Has there been any movement on the waitlist yet?
