Colgate regular decisions 2017 official

Wait list…

I just received a rejection email after receiving an acceptance from another school

waitlist
SATs 2140 - GPA 4.0W
NHS, ECs, travel sports, job.

Rejected via email, this is funny as I called yesterday and they said my admissions decision was sent via regular mail… :frowning: oh well good luck to all those waiting especially my fellow west Indians and CONGRATS to those accepted #classof2017

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ACCEPTED!!! ¨:D i cant believe it as I am an international applying for aid!!short stats: GPA about 4.0, 6 Ap plus 5 ap senior year, top 5%. SAT 2150. ECs were good and reflected who I am. I think I got accepted because of my essays, since the note they sent complemented my personal essay and what it meant to me. I got 23K scholarship, although Ill try to ask for more aid.

Has anyone else still not heard anything? In the midwest?

In Indiana - still have not heard anything from Colgate.

In Florida and haven’t

I’m debating joining the Facebook group for admitted students only, and see if they let me in. hehe

Two students in my town heard back yesturday and today in the mail (both acceptances). I’ve yet to recieve any communication, snail mail or email. Should I just wait for Monday to see if anything comes in the mail? Contact the office? Or just take it as a sign of rejection?

Just got my acceptance letter (/packet) in the mail today!! I’m in Memphis, so I’m right on the Mississippi River bluffs. They left a nice note about my reccomendations

Good luck to all those still waiting to hear back!

@bellster the same thing is happening to me!

I got in as a Benton Scholar, which sounds pretty cool. I don’t know much about Colgate. What makes it special?

@pradadoll I’m new to this site, what do you mean stats? I had a 3.28 GPA and 2090 Total SAT score if that’s what you mean. Also started my own business, held internships, president of a couple of clubs and did alot of service…

@dancergirl2 that want give you any indication of the decision. My mom tried to join the group (by accident) a few months ago and was let in hahah. She has a different last name then me.

So sad. Rejected…UW GPA 4.0, 8 AP’s straight 5’s, 4 AP’s this year with straight A’s, run my own blog, twitter, and got my own incredible journalism internships since I was 15 with big organizations (including Olympics). SAT’s 2220, SAT II’s Lit 780, US History, 780, Math II, 720. Sit on Bd of Trustees in my school, and run the Outreach program. Editor of foreign language magazine, literary magazine, and teach autistic/asperger’s children to sing. Do musical theater, and write online for Huff Post. Motivational speaker for youth. BUT I needed a lot of fin aid. My mom is disabled; it’s just her and myself. Hope money was the reason. My GC said she was embarrassed by this decision bec she went there and thought I was a perfect fit. In 2011, the new President posted on the website that they don’t have the financial resources for a lot of good kids to attend. I did get great fin aid packages to other schools, but I wanted to keep a nice small school in my pocket, since I prefer smaller to larger. The big schools come out next week, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for something great. We will all wind up where we are supposed to be I am sure! I believe in both faith and fate, and we all must move on. Good luck to everyone!!!

Oh the humanity! I can’t bare to look at any toothpaste.

DS waitlisted with 3.9 unweighted GPA, all AP and Honors courses, National Merit Commended, major EC’s … but high Financial need. Legacy from multiple generations. He is moving on but I am MAD. They seriously should be treating their legacies better. He would have gone there if they had made him an offer.

Accepted w/ 4.6 weighted GPA (we only do weighted), 2130, and 30 act. All AP/honors, ranked in top 1%, very active in sports, leadership positions, and community service. Package arrived in south central PA on Saturday, really happy! I love the little personal notes they wrote on the acceptance letters in blue, so nice. Colgate is a great school, congrats to those accepted!

Accepted :D
