I'd like to compare these two schools. Student very unsure of major; maybe professional school (medical or law) or something in the business world. Schools seem very similar, but there must be differences. Looking for the smaller liberal arts experience. Might go ED to one of these. Stats seem to be similar. Any experience here?

Go to the Colgate forum and there's a thread on "Colgate vs.... "

Texastaximom-has a Jr son at Bucknell, who also considered Colgate- so she could give you some current information.

My H and I are Bucknell grads- long ago, but our S considered Bucknell, our D spent a week at Colgate's summer soccer program three summers ago, and ( a year younger than D) played the Colgate golf course, we took the Colgate tour.

Assuming you are a Junior- have you visited these schools. As remote as people say Bucknell is, Colgate is really "remote" with an almost non-existent town. So I would give Bucknell points for a better town, although not a mecca of things to do, but it is quaint an pretty.

Both schools seem similar on paper- Colgate has higher stat profile- and, they may pull from different geographic regions.

Colgate has reined in the frat scene, and that might be a factor for you.

Where do you live? ED will probably give you the edge at either school, if you are able to decide.
If you have more specific questions, ask away.
