<p>I want to major in computer science and go to grad school for engineering in computer science..
FA from both the schools is pretty good though colgate does hold an upper hand.
Does AMS at Colgate outweigh Engineering at Lafayette???</p>

<p>lafayette has a better engineering program. hands down, undergrad engineering is better than colgate. BUT colgate is a higher-ranked, more selective school. employers (and grad schools) in the future will take this into consideration, especially if they don’t know much about schools (employers, not grad schools obviously) and will therefore have the name recognition for colgate but probably won’t know that engineering at lafayette is so rigorous. also, it’s not like colgate’s engineering department is low or uncompetitive. quite the contrary, it’s a very decent program. sorry, but it’s going to definitely be a tough decision for you. keep us here at cc posted!</p>

<p>Colgate doesn’t have an engineering program. The closest it has is a 3-2 program in conjunction with Columbia, Dartmouth, RPI, WUSTL where you pursue a Physics major at Colgate and then take more specific engineering courses at one of the other schools that offer them. </p>
<p>The OP seemed to be asking about computer science, which is a major one can get at Colgate.</p>
<p>Op, computer sci. is a major at Colgate, as gellino said. Look at where some Colgate students go to grad school, for all majors. They get into the very top schools. </p>
<p>Lafayette is a good school. If you think you might like to switch to engineering as an undergrad, go there. But, IMO, you can not go wrong w/ Colgate for CS, or physics or math. These majors lead into top grad programs (obviously given a high gpa and gre. etc)</p>
<p>So if the FA is better at Colgate, I would go there.</p>
