I want to major in computer science and go to grad school for engineering in computer science..
FA from both the schools is pretty good though colgate does hold an upper hand.
Does AMS at Colgate outweigh Engineering at Lafayette???

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

any help anyone???

AMS at Colgate means that you are regarded as one of the top 200 applicants. While Lafayette is one of the few LACs that has engineering, I don’t know if it is really considered particularly strong; especially if you are looking to major in computer science and then go to grad school. Generally, Colgate is considered a stronger, more selective school than Lafayette.

Thanks…i wasnt sure whether i would be allowed to pursue computer engineering after doing BA

^This is something to ask the schools as opposed to those without knowledge of specific areas of engineering.

Both excellent schools. The ONE thing that Lafayette has over Colgate (and both are in the highly regarded Patriot League) is its proximity to both Philadelphia and New York, which makes travel a lot easier. Colgate is a tad remote. But you can’t go wrong at either place, both are fun yet strong academic schools. Colgate is somewhat conservative, for a Northeastern school…or so I hear.

Lafayette and Colgate both in the Patriot League, along with Lehigh, Bucknell, West Point, Navy, Holy Cross. I have a S at Colgate and S at Lafayette, (senior) majoring in engineering–my son and his friends at Lafayette all have job offers (multiple). Being AMS at Colgate is a feather in your cap, but Colgate can’t compare to Lafayette for engineering. Colgate is remote and cold much of the year. Good Luck!

^^^ You are pointing to the Patriot Basketball League, not the Patriot Football League.

Actually I will be graduating debt free from Colgate as opposed to a 14K debt from Lafayette. Plus I have to do a $3000 job at Lafayette while it is just $ 1126 at Colgate…

Should this tilt me towards Colgate???
