My current GPA is 3.77, next year i’m taking 2 APs out of the three available at my school, and i think i’ll interview well and be able to write a pretty good essay. The reason i’m posting, and my main concern, is that i scored an 1830 on the SAT. It was my first time taking it, and i plan to take it again in the fall with the hopes of doing better, but if i don’t end up doing better could i still get into Colgate with that score?
Realistically…you will not get into Colgate with those scores.
This is the middle 50% of Colgate’s Class of 2019, as posted by Colgate.
660-750 critical reading; 660-750 math
3.8 out of 4.0 GPA.
Your GPA is close to the 50%, however I cannot imagine that your scores are in those ranges, are either of them?
DO NOT LOSE HOPE THOUGH!
The first time I took the SAT I got 280 points lower than the second time I took it. However, I am an ACT kid and I scored much better there. I scored 3 whole composite points higher the second time I took it. For both tests, I prepped my BOOTY off for the second time I took it. I took two practice tests a week, on Saturdays and Sundays, and made sure I understood how I made my mistakes and how to avoid said mistakes on the test. Do this and I promise you can get up to the 2000s. Study hard, I believe in you!
