Swarthmore 1000 (offered waitlist)

People need to be careful that the numbers are not apples and oranges: the number of people offered waitlist or the number expected to accept waitlist. For example, Kenyon almost certainly mailed more than 200 waitlist offers or they could end up with only 50 people on their waitlist.

For example, last spring Kenyon offered waitlist to 1115 applicants. 378 accepted a place on the wait list. 10 were ultimately admitted. These numbers are from Kenyon's Common Data Set filing.

It's unlikely that the numbers would significantly change year to year.

Williams College data from last spring. Again, unlikely to change much year to year:

Number offered a place on wait-list 1,553
Number accepting a place on the waiting list 682
Number of wait-listed students admitted 67
Number of admittted wait-list students matriculated 51

Pomona College doesn't provide the data on its Common Data Set. Neither does Swarthmore. The 1000 number for Swarthmore came from an interview/article with the Admissions Dean in yesterday's school paper.
