Juana, congratulations! The very first college viewbook D received was from Hiram after her 10th grade PSAT. It looked like a wonderful school to me. It feels good to have a school they would be happy to attend this early in the game , doesn't it?

Ah Hiram is a great school! Very small and intimate! :D

hope I'm not breaking the rules by conversing on this thread! We learned about Hiram from "Colleges that Change Lives", and their "Hiram Plan" (3 classes in a twelve-week term, then one class in a three week term) is appealing to my daughter. The setting is rural and beautiful and we were impressed with the students with whom we conversed during our visit. They also have core requirements that seem to be both common sense (writing and research components during freshman year) and interesting (interdisciplinary classes.) The three week term gives the kids a chance to study off campus without the time commitment necessary for most study abroad programs.

Welcome, Juana! I'm glad to hear about your daughter's acceptance to Hiram. The CTCL book and tour do a fantastic job of getting the word out about some wonderful colleges.

We Love Early Action!!

It is so good to see this growing list. In two weeks, hopefully the list will start expanding even more as ED decisions start flowing in.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Carolyn,
Just to let you know we haven't visited Albright College yet, although we plan to visit during one of the accepted senior orientations this spring. One of my friends has a son who goes to Albright, and she says the campus is very nice. By the way, my D is planning to major in Psychology.

I was ju..........st thinking about andison and sending him good vibes. I have a much much much much better feeling about this year than last.

Marny1-sounds like you took the high road...doesn't sound like you went down to this obnoxious idiots level...oh whoops...now me on the other hand....

I agree with marny, I am so pleased that my DS has an acceptance in hand. There will likely be more acceptances as well as some rejections, but he was very excited to get the first acceptance and just feels like the pressure is off now. There is nothing wrong with a state university, they are a financial safety oftentimes as well as an academic safety. I feel great knowing DS has an acceptance to a school that I can afford regardless of any scholarship he may get.

"TROLL ALERT!!!!!!!!!
Let the celebrations continue..."

Hahaha...anyone who is not celebrating with you in acceptances to state schools is branded a troll...

I love your black or white thinking.
