College Acceptances: celebrate here!

Andison and Andi, will you be going to MIT or will you be accepting a large scholarship to attend Brandeis.

Andison, congratulations! You are a great source of inspiration for me.

Holy Cow! YeeHaw! WOW. So happy for you!! This is so sweet! Love it!!!! Have fun choosing! This has been the most fun ever, hearing all the good news for andison this year. CONGRATULATIONS ANDISON--you deserve it! Your hard work and waiting paid off, big time.

CONGRATS to ANDISON AND ANDI!!!!!

I am so moved and happy for your son and your family. My kids think I am wacked for caring so much about someone I don't know...such is this world of CC....:-) You handled this whole situation with courage and class. As we wait for D's decisions, your whole experience gives me some peace that no matter what, it will work out. Best wishes as you now embark on decisions!

crawling out to say I am very happy.
LA

Who said the andison news would get better and better, ala berurahson of last year?

cheers did.

I'm not surprised andi, but I am still thrilled to bits. What sweet victory! Clever, clever MIT.

excel,
You could search for the thread in PF entitled "We're Picking Up the Pieces, but what went wrong?" It was recently resurrected, so it shouldn't be hard to find. His stats are in there.
However, in the meantime, you might like to see this thread as well:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=158076

(Post no. 1) So that would tend to confirm mootmom's comments about stats.

Andi, God bless. What wonderful decisions to choose from (I know there are still more to come!), & so deserved for the whole family certainly.

I'm already sniffly from Ben Jones' blog and then I see this. Congrats to everyone (even the dog)!

I cannot find the original thread referenced as "we're picking up the pieces, but what went wrong?" I had wanted to read it before, don't know if anyone has the link?

Thanks

As a relative latecomer to CC, I read about Andison's story after the fact.

But I want to extend my congratulations to him -- and to his mother. Awesome news, and from I could tell, it finally comes to a family who deserves it.

Have fun celebrating!

Here it is.

andison - your family's college admissions experience was probably the most profound and most valuable thing I have read to date on CC. You have helped many by sharing this experience. I know that I personally kept your dilemma in my mind at all times when advising our d about college choices. Many thanks from many of us are in order.

Congratulations to your son for all of his accomplishments and to you and your family for coming through a difficult time in such a graceful way.

Andi, I'm so happy for you and your son!!! There are so many things to be learned by your experience, not the least of which is resilience!!! Succeeding in achieving a goal is always nice, but it's so much sweeter after a struggle. I believe strongly that the kind of experience your son has had will make him a stronger, and more compassionate, person in the long run. Enjoy this moment, and know that many are just thrilled to see this thread!

Andi congrats are all over CC! And deservedly so!

Congratulations. Your wrap-up article about your experiences, which several friends have requested from you in this thread, will have many eager readers.

:) :)

Good things come to those who wait.....

Absolutely awesome. Congrats to Andison and Andifamily

:) :)

I've said this before, but I'll repeat, because I know I'm not alone. I've stayed on CC this past year, relishing the news about Andison and some others. Your tale was so poignant.

I've been reading the MIT & Caltech sites for past day, as both schools sent out news. Its clear that many with perfect stats & wonderful ECs are not accepted. One just doesn't know what is included in the letters of recommendation that can sour an admission. When I've followed some kids for 6 months who are passionate about getting admitted, I feel such joy for them. My S's current roommate was an ardent poster, and I felt like I knew him before he & S became friends.

Anyway, congrats!!!

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Congrats! That's awesome news!
