College Acceptances: celebrate here!

Outstanding, OUTSTANDING!!

To continue along the Dead said it theme: Sometimes the light's all shining on me [your kids in this case:)]

What exciting outcomes. Congratulations to all of you on your wonderful children. The results are remarkable but not surprising considering the caring and supportive parents they have!

Since it's midmorning, and maybe not soooo busy here at CC, I just want to CONGRATULATE you and your children for all these fabulous outcomes!!!

Curmudge and Quiltguru - congrats. Both your girls have fabulous accomplishments, and fab acceptances. We won't hold it against them that they didn't appy to Dartmouth ;).

Mum2boys and Menlopark - welcome to Dartmouth!!! They will love it.

Kat - how will he ever decide?!

Much, much congrats to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I definitely concur we need a sticky thread organized by school to tell where they're all going, for those of us playing along at home.

maybe next time you should let your son check his own!

Special congratulations to any families who were disappointed in Mid-December,and have reason to be thrilled now...and for those less than thrilled..keep in mind the very fine anthem...'If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with' 6 months from now the boards will be filled with notes from kids who can't imagine being anywhere else....Such great news for so many...

One of the reasons that I hung around this board post-my daughter's application year was to feed information to my sister and her son. This is the kind of kid that you hope gets what they want at the end of the application process just to prove that some kids get accepted "cold" into an elite school. He has no connections, no money for all of the extras that can help build up a package and worked like a dog for everything that he has earned. I would love him to death no matter what but I am so happy that it turned out well for him and that he has good choices. Many thanks to all of the CC posters and the information that they provided (I lurked and learned).

ACCEPTED: CORNELL A&S

......and accepted at a number of other fine schools that have offered him all kinds of grants/scholarships/computers and the like - which is a nice cushion if the financial aid package at Cornell can't be worked out in a way that my sister's family can handle it.

HOORAY!

Here's to your nephew's well-earned opportunities!

Thanks, Faline2. What a great day. I am as excited as the day my D got into school!

Elleneast:

Congrats from me, too!

I also want to report that Sarap, who has not posted for a while, wrote to say that her D got into Harvard. Sarap had been worried that a move in the middle of senior year would be too much, but obviously, her D handled it very well!

Congrats Elleneast

Marite, Sybbie - Thank YOU.

Your comments and insights on this board have been very helpful during the past couple of years.....and not just those pertaining to the college application process.

Congratulations to all.

Elleneast--Congrats! Nice to hear from you; glad things worked out so well.

Omigosh, Kat--Princeton, too?! Congrats!

thebestMom--well, someone had to be, LOL. Congrats to yours, too.

This is so much fun to watch from the sidelines.

Well, I'd read that Kat's S had gotten into everywhere he'd applied to, but I had not heard yet about Princeton. Congrats. I hope he can make up his mind on his own :): I don't know where I would advise him to go, all the choices are so awesome!

(((((( imiracle911 ))))))) Columbia!! Way to go, kiddo! :)

Imiracle--I missed that! Congrats! You know I'm a BIG fan!

My daughter just got accepted to Pepperdine. That was her first choice so we are very excited.

Congratulations to everyone else. This is what we have worked with our kids for so many years to accomplish.

Pepperdad,

welcome to the parent's forum. Congrats to D on getting accepted to Pepperdine. Toasting champagne to you.

Kat,

Just read your updated list. wow!! so do you think you can get around to that how to book? I know, just as soon as you get back from the massive road trip. So happy for you and son.
