thanks illumin4tus,

how can I contact Soozviet? I'm not sure how to send a private message on CC, and I don't have an e-mail address. Can you, or anyone else help? Thanks again...

Find a post from Soozievt, and click on her name. A little menu will pop up, and one of the choices is "Send a private message".

thanks moominmama!

celhenry - just noticed the excellent acceptances you posted on the Master Big List. Congrats to you and yours! Don't know how well you know Washington, DC. But it is where I grew up and is a great city - Howard should be a wonderful experience. Congrats on your D's Laureate scholarship, too.

celhenry- congrats on your admission to Howard along with the scholarship.

My neice is a currently a senior at Howard (always wanted to attend ever since she was a little girl) and for her it has been an amazing 4 years. I hope your D's time there is just as wonderful.

I can finally post on this thread since we are no longer playing the waiting game with waitlists! My son got a call today from Davidson and he was offered admission from the waitlist. He is so excited and I am real happy for him. I just discovered this board a few months ago and did not have it around when my older son (who is a freshman at Dartmouth) was heading off to college. Now that both of my sons will be away at college, I may need support from all of you!

congrats, iowamom. Great support is available throughout this forum, and especially in Sinners Alley :).

Congrats and welcome, Iowamom. Davidson is a great school (as is Dartmouth, of course). Enjoy!

Many terrific Davidson grads around here in Virginia..each one I know praises Davidson for incredible friendship and support from their profs and for making grad school a relative breeze. So happy your son is where he wants to be for fall 2006.

iowamom -
congrat's to your son on Davidson and on surviving the waitlist!

Recently got into Imperial College of London majoring Bio Medical Engineering with 4000 pounds (renew)

For too many months recently, andi and I consoled each other as we were rocked, rolled and buffeted about in what we called our Godforsaken Boat (aka College Admissions/Transfer Admissions Second Time Around Hell).

Andi landed safely on shore a while ago now, but she willingly jumped back in (behind the cc scenes) to help me row.

Today, almost all of jmson's results are in and he has been accepted to one of his top two choices: Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering. From the moment he learned that Tulane's phase-out of several Engineering programs would be his personal aftermath of Katrina, this school has been at the top of his list.

He was also accepted to several others and I have learned that life is unpredicatble . But I'm guessing JHU will now be his ultimate destination. Anyway, my relief and happineness for him is immense. He has several excellent choices and I can relax knowing that the ball is in his court rather than that of the scary admissions world out there.

Thank you all here on cc for buoying my spirits when needed, offering realistic perspective when mine was long lost, providing valued ideas and advice as well as welcome comic relief and just generally being my soft place to fall. Where else is a girl gonna wallow in college admissions obsessions?

yay for jmmom and jmson!!!!! You deserve this as much as anyone here! what a fantastic school to get into!!!! Finally, you all can relax a little! What a year you've had!

Jmmom,

Big *{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}} and congratulations *to you and jmson

I agree with garland, what a year it has been. I hope this admission has made it all worth the wait.

You can wallow with me anytime.;) Congrats to the boy. JHU and Woo-Hoo!! Take a well deserved rest from worry. You've earned it.

Congratulations!!! - the way I figure, you guys spent two years applying to schools, non-stop. That's quite some endurance you have. Wait one more year, and then he can start applying to grad school! ;) Hopefully, it will be easier on you and him the next time around. :)

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a nice summer you will have, now. Congrats to him and you, too.

Congrats, jmmom!!! So glad to hear the good news. JHU is fantastic for engineering, BME etc.

Digmedia, congrats to your son on Law school acceptances.

Woohooooo!!!! Congrats to jmson and jmmom!!!! You both survived quite a hurricane both literally and figuratively!!! P.S. Baltimore is one my very favorite cities. I love the Orioles and the Inner Harbor!
