Hey, Does anybody know when will Berea college decision will be out?

And, will they reply via Email or Post.

As per my information: By April 11th. Via Email first.

Anyone’s heard from Bates college? RD

Is it bad if I have 7k in student loan per year? I am scared that my accumulated debt would be 28k at the end of four years. Is it a manageable debt?

Loan?? How did you get it??
I don’t think that internationals are eligible for loan.

Did anybody hear from skidmore??
I found that they mailed their decision 1 week back.
I still don’t have any Email. … kinda worried !!

@batuli: did you get into Sarah Lawrence and Soka? Or is it someone else from Chelsea?

@HD0CRANZ3: I think every college that provides need-based aid gives out some loan to international students. My financial aid package has some scholarship, some grant, work study - $1900, and loan 7k per year. My family contribution is 9k a year (which is difficult but fine).

Therefore my question is whether it is a good idea to pursue the college given my 9k EFC and 7k student loan per year.

@nepalimussa
Unfortunately, none of the acceptances that belong to Chelsea are mine. I have been wait listed or rejected by every selective college so far. :(

What other viable options do you have other than that particular offer from the college that accepted you with those offers?

^sad news is I don’t have any. Caldwell has asked me to pay 16k a year for living expenses.
Waitlisted at Gettysburg, Trinity University (Texas).

Waiting on: Skidmore, Berea. I don’t think I will get any of these two given the number and quality of applicants here.

EXACT COPY OF EARLIER POST. HAPPENED TO BE IN WRONG PLACE EARLIER.
There is a saying in Nepali, “MARNU BHANDA BOULAUNU BES”.

The college that has given you such offer must be better than Caldwell.(My due respect to Caldwell college and its attendee). When we do not have any options, it is better to do the basics. You do not need to stress a lot about loan for now. Just about every candidate has some loan in form of need based aid. A friend of mine who got through ED has a loan of around 5K, and he is so relaxed about it. So may that should not matter from my point of view. A sagacious view from college graduates might help more.

This is my response after reading your PM:
If you and your parents are comfortable taking two gap years, that looks like best option for now.

my friend who got into Franklin and Marshall also got into Berea. At least they took in one Nepalese this year.

Congratulations to her!
She must be one heck of a candidate!
BTW,Which school is she from?

I got into berea… First acceptance of the year!!! ( i.e. Not counting my safety college)…hurray… They gave me

full tuition+housing+meals+fees

@jacobswannabe
hey. Are you sure? but my friend got in too. I saw the acceptance email myself. They said they only take in one candidate per country. That quite doesn’t add up.

I got one email: Subjected Regarding your application of admission

…out of 800 students, they took 30 international students. I don’t remember anything in that about ‘one student per country’…

Remember that it was an automated email of acceptance …

Did anyone hear any good news from Bates?

Congratulations @Jacobswannabe. I am so happy for you. :)
